The Financial Women’s Association is proud to offer this new website to our Members, Corporate Partners and Guests – Welcome! This new FWA website is created with the goal of enhancing the user experience as we strive to streamline information, highlight our offering and focus on key initiatives of such a vibrant organization. Under About Us, you’ll see Our Mission to accelerate the leadership of women in the financial community across all industries. There is a robust timeline, helping to tell the FWA’s evolutionary story of its nearly 60-year history, and we have the Get Involved section which includes a clickable cloud graphic of our Committees, featuring the dedicated leadership of our current co-chairs.
As the Membership has provided helpful feedback on the past websites, Membership also voted last year and overwhelmingly passed the One FWA resolution, which combines the activities of our Business League and Educational Fund so we can operate as one 501(c)(3) organization. To move toward “One FWA” we have aimed to build a website to reflect this direction of a holistic offering. As such, this website highlights six key initiatives for our organization under two categories of Leadership and Community outreach. Under Leadership, much of our Member offerings fall under the initiatives of: Professional Development; Distinguished Speakers; and Global Agenda. The Community outreach programs are generally aligned through: Mentoring and Scholarships; Financial Literacy Outreach and Microfinance / Impact investing.
FWA President Kimberly Weinrick stated, “As the FWA continues to embrace technology, this website is a terrific step forward to enhance relationships with Members, visitors, President’s Circle Partners and beyond.” She further added, “This year the FWA’s focus has been on Capital Markets, Technology, Leadership and Mentoring-these themes have been woven into our strong programming, the FWA’s International Conference in Berlin, FWA Mentee LinkedIn Communities, and now through our optimized website, designed to be flexible and breathable as we continue our path forward.”
Weinrick also provides a special thanks to the dedicated support from the FWA Board of Directors, the Leadership Council and specifically to the FWA Website Team including: Interim Executive Director Karen Karpowich, Director of Operations and Technology Lisa Buddenhagen, Manager of Member and External Communications Jamie Epstein, and FWA Members Jason Dodd and Elena Gryadovkina, as well as Janet Odgis, Rhian Swierat and James Donegan of Odgis+Co. Now fully optimized for mobile use, online registration and designed to further engage Members and Corporate Partners alike, we hope that this website will help each of us tell our powerful story.
