Event Highlights - Annual Meeting, June 26, 2008
|
The FWA turned out in force on June 26 to welcome the 151 new members who joined us this year and to celebrate the achievements of the organization under outgoing president Lily Klebanoff Blake. An elegant reception in the landmark Art Deco Bank of New York Mellon building at One Wall Street preceded the Annual Meeting. This beautiful venue provided fabulous views and an inspiring setting for the occasion.
Lily offered a recap of the successes and milestones reached in 2007-08, as well as a showing of new FWA video. The focus turned to the future when Lily passed the gavel to incoming President Kristin McDonough, who outlined her vision for 2008-09 and proposed a list of board members who will help in realizing it. The slate of directors was accepted by the membership, and the individuals and their specific responsibilities were introduced.
The election results for officers were announced:
| President-Elect |
Stephanie Hauge |
| Treasurer |
Susan Isquith |
| Secretary |
Christine Birnbaum |
Also reported was the outcome of the election of two members to the nominating committee for a two year term: Deborah Kaye and Jenene Karamon. They will serve along with this year’s president and the two members continuing in the second year of their terms, Judy Mellars and Karen Rockey.
Our thanks go to Susan Isquith, the FWA’s outgoing secretary, for producing the
2007-2008 Annual Report and organizing the event with the help of Pat Powers and Kathryln Wang.
