Highlights - Annual Meeting 2012 and Election Results

The FWA turned out in force on June 21 to welcome the 120 new members who joined us this year and to celebrate the achievements of the organization under outgoing president Anne Izzillo. The elegant quarters of BNP Paribas were a perfect setting for the evening, with fabulous views and a sumptuous reception.

The focus turned to the future when Anne passed the gavel to incoming President Susan Harper, who announced the new FWA misson statement and vision, outlined her vision for 2012-2013, and proposed a list of board members who will help in realizing it. The slate of directors was accepted by the membership, and the individuals and their specific responsibilities were introduced.

The election results for officers were announced:

President-Elect Kimberly Williams Weinrick
Treasurer Barbara Cohen
Secretary Katherine Lajoie Malik

Also reported was the outcome of the election of two members to the nominating committee for a two year term: Susan Isquith and Pat Miney. They will serve along with this year’s president and the two members continuing in the second year of their terms, Joan Shapiro
Green and Phyllis Haberman.

Our thanks go to Valerie Simson, the FWA’s outgoing secretary, for producing the 2011-12 Annual Report and organizing the event.
