To coincide with the Africa Code Week and EU Code Week initiatives to promote coding to young learners, openSAP- SAP’s Massive Open Online Course(MOOC) platform – is providing two courses to help children and teenagers learn to code starting October 1:
- The first course Teaching Programming to Young Learners is aimed at teachers, parents, and guardians of children aged 8-11 years old.
- The second course, Teens Get Coding is aimed at teenagers aged 12-17 and will introduce coding in a fun and interactive way.
Both courses will teach learners to create their own interactive stories, games, and animations using the free MIT program, Scratch, in a suitable way for their age group. Scratch helps young people learn to think creatively, reason systematically, and work collaboratively — essential skills for life in the 21st century. The course is free and open for everyone and there are no formal prerequisites or limitations.
The SAP Global Financial Services Ecosystem Team would like to extend an invitation to you to take advantage of this fantastic offering. Whether you have children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, or even the neighbors’ children; get involved and encourage them to sign up and get a head start in the world of coding!
Don’t miss this opportunity to have an impact in the lives of future generations!
