Get Involved with FWA’s Educational Programs

If you have a few hours to spare on a weekend, then Financial Backpack is the right program for you. Volunteer to teach New York City high school students about financial literacy and the keys to a successful financial future.

Volunteers are supported in the classroom by members of the faculty and graduate students. No prior teaching experience is required, but volunteers should be familiar with the basic principles of financial management.

Students at the Financial Backpack session held last May.

Workshop: Saturday, November 18th, 8:00 am – 1:00 pm

Location: Martin Luther King High School  |  122 Amsterdam Avenue at 65th Street

New volunteer? Don’t worry – training sessions are held before each workshop.

Next training session: Wednesday, November 15th, 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Location:
Martin Luther King High School  |  122 Amsterdam Avenue at 65th Street

If you are unavailable for the November 18th Workshop, you are still welcome to join us during the training session, to be prepared for future workshops.
