Past FWA Presidents Maureen Adolf (2014-15) and Susan L. Harper (2012-13), who is also FWA pro bono General Counsel, posed with “The Fearless Girl” statute Artist Kristen Visbal at NY City Hall in a gathering organized by US Congresswoman Maloney to extend the statute’s stay on Wall Street.

Commissioned by asset management firm State Street Global Advisors to mark its initiative urging the 3,500+ companies in which it invests for its clients to increase the number of women on their corporate boards, Fearless was conceived by McCann New York and sculpted by Visbal (pictured above). The NYC Mayor’s Office announced today that the statute of the young brave bronze girl facing the iconic Wall Street bronze bull will remain in its place for at least 11 more months.

Pacesetter Jamilynn Cimino, is featured in a LinkedIn article, Reverse Mentoring: Millennials teach old dogs new tricks, published March 6th.

Jamilynn lead the development of the “Connect” program. According to Cimino, the “overall objective of the program is to leverage generation-wide talent to help shape the future direction of the firm and position Pershing for success.”

Sharon Lewis, participated in a discussion on the topic of “Undercover cameras expose ageism, challenge old stereotypes”, on  NBC’s Today Show, broadcasted on May 25, 2016.

We are  pleased to inform you that Susan L. Harper, pro bono FWA General Counsel, will be a featured speaker on the Japan Society’s policy panel, “Womenomics-in-Action: Approaches by the Japanese, American and European Governments” on Tuesday, May 10, 2016.  Harper is a Managing Director of the Bates Group LLC. She Chairs the NY State Bar Association’s Committee on Women in the Law’s Legislative Subcommittee and is a past Co-Chair of NYCLA’s Women’s Rights Committee.  She is also a Past FWA President 2012-13. The program will focus on Japan’s new law promoting women’s roles in the workplace effective April 2016. Companies with 301 or more employees, as well as the central and local governments, are required to report their percentage of female hires and female managers, and set numerical targets for employing and promoting women. Harper will be  discussing the American government and businesses efforts to promote women’s empowerment and advancement and U.S policies impacting women’s economic rights.

Pamela Packard, FWA Past President 1999-2000 has been named Chairperson-Elect of Financial Planning Standards Board, Ltd (FPSB), a certification, education and professional standards setting organization for the global financial planning community.  She will automatically assume the role of Chairperson in April 2017.

Robin Judson, managing partner and group founder of Robin Judson Partners, LLC., recently welcomed Lorrie Landis to her dynamic team as a managing director. Ms. Landis, whose prior experience includes serving as a consultant for two major distressed credit hedge funds; managing alternative investments at the Tulane University Investment Office; co-founder and managing general partner of a woman-owned long short credit and distressed hedge fund; assistant portfolio manager and senior analyst at Caspian Capital Partners (Mariner Investment Group); and, vice president and associate in various capacities at Drexel Burnham Lambert in New York Investment Banking, will be responsible for recruiting positions in research, marketing, trading and portfolio management. “We are thrilled to welcome Lorrie to the team,” said Robin Judson, managing partner and group founder. “The passion, experience and judgment that Lorrie brings to this firm will be incredibly valuable to our clients.” Ms. Landis has a particular interest in seeing more women and minorities on investment teams and corporate boards.
