How can you repay someone who has given you the gift of life? While we can’t help you there, we do know women are awesome, especially moms – and the founding moms and Past Presidents of the FWA!
So we wanted to share three ideas for making the most of Mother’s Day:
- Dine mom with a purpose – I can’t wait to bring my own mother to the FWA’s Women of the Year Annual Dinner. If you can bring your own mother, she’ll be inspired and realize what a fabulous job she did in raising you! A portion of your ticket is tax-deductible.
- Be a mentor to someone else – Countless young women need our help to succeed. At Monday’s dinner, you’ll hear the incredible story of Isis, a teen mother who’s now on the path to college and success, a life-changer thanks to her FWA mentor. If you’d like to mentor, contact us or offer-up membership – including for students – in the FWA.
- Give thanks to someone who’s been like a motherly figure to you – Make a donation in her name to a favorite charity like the FWA that connects to her in some meaningful way and be sure to pass on the below quote:
“Mother love is the fuel that enables a normal human being to do the impossible.”
Marion C. Garretty, quoted in “A Little Spoonful of Chicken Soup for the Mother’s Soul.”
To our mothers and those who’ve mothered the FWA, we thank you!
