13.1 miles: Courage to START, strength to ENDURE, resolve to FINISH

A message from the Marie-Helene Kennedy-Payen, Membership Committee Chair and Team Captain:

HUGE congratulations to the FWA Team for completing 13.1 miles half-marathon in Central Park on April 14th, along with 9,000 women! What a blast: cheering crowds, entertaining billboards, cherry blossoms and music.

I am so proud of you for taking up this challenge til the end and I really look forward to continue organizing more events which bring our FWA members together in this kind of way.

A very SPECIAL THANK YOU to our volunteers:

-Ichun, Irene, Regina and Yinka who got up at the crack of dawn to be at the water station on East 72nd street (we are all truly grateful, given the heat yesterday!).

-Lourdes, my ‘partner in crime’ who took the lead in organizing our picnic as part of our post race FWA Meet and Greet. Thank you for making this flawless.

Thank you Karmen, Katherina, Kirti and Karmen for being there to help Lourdes put together a splendid picnic display, sharing your FWA experience and for taking footage of this memorable event!

You are all exceptional leaders and I had a great time getting to know you all throughout this adventure.

Attached are a few pics highlighting the day – much more to come!
