The Financial Women’s Association kicked off its 2017 annual meeting at New York Life’s NYC headquarters on Madison Avenue, Tuesday, June 20, 2017. The annual meeting is a time for longtime FWA members to welcome new members, the membership is informed of future activities and new initiatives, and a new board of directors are also elected. This year, FWA President Katrin Dambrot (2015-17) passed the gavel to incoming President-elect Stacy Musi (2017-18) in continuing FWA’s mission of accelerating the leadership and success of women in financial services.
To highlight some of the biggest achievements of Katrin’s presidency, FWA recognized the launch of the Back2Business program, a successful International Business Conference in Toronto and Vancouver, Canada, the Pacesetter program, and the selection of Ria Davis as FWA’s new Executive Director.
As the FWA enters its 62nd year, the results of the election of officers were announced, and the Leadership for the 2017-2018 year was selected and introduced.
Here are the newly elected leaders:
President – Stacy Musi
President-Elect – Karen Elinski
Secretary – Simone Vinocour
Treasurer – Marie Arrigo
Two members of the Nominating committee – Christine Birnbaum and Rosemarie “Roe” Bonelli.
New initiatives for the upcoming year include: Professional Development Coaching Workshops, Member-to-Member Mentoring, a new Perspectives Committee, and more Free Events for Our Members.
We have some exciting things to look forward to this year, and this could not be possible without the hard work, dedication, and passion of our FWA membership, sponsors, volunteers, and staff.
