The Financial Women’s Association kicked off its 2018 annual meeting at New York Life’s NYC headquarters on Thursday, June 21, 2018. The annual meeting is a time for longtime FWA members to welcome new members, the membership is informed of future activities and new initiatives, and new Officers and Directors are elected. This year, FWA President Stacy Musi (2017-18) passed the gavel to incoming President-elect Karen Elinski (2018-19) in continuing FWA’s mission of accelerating the leadership and success of women in financial services.
To highlight some of the biggest achievements of Stacy’s presidency, FWA recognized the launch of the BOLD and Perspective committees, a successful International Business Conference in Tokyo, Japan, a Resume Book, Member2Member Mentoring Program and the very successful and engaging 2nd Annual Summit: “The Future of Work.”
The results of the election of officers were announced, and the Leadership for the 2018-2019 year was selected and introduced.
Here are the newly elected leaders:
President – Karen Elinski
President-Elect – Simone Vinocour
Secretary – Annette Stewart
Treasurer – Marie Arrigo
Two members of the Nominating committee – Jenene Karamon and Arminda Youse-Warde.
New initiatives for the upcoming year include: Delivery of Excellent Programming via Webinars and Video Library, Creation of a Speaker’s Bureau, Partnerships with like-minded organizations, Enhanced Scope and the Creation of a Past President’s Advisory Council.
We have some exciting things to look forward to this year, and this could not be possible without the hard work, dedication, and passion of our FWA membership, sponsors, volunteers, and staff.
