The FWA NJ Seton Hall Mentoring Program held a panel discussion with 4 alumnae mentees on Wednesday, February 27th; and the topic discussed was their transition from college to the workforce.
The former mentees were as follows: – Desyre Blackburn ’17- financial analyst, JPMorgan Chase – Alex Ryan ’17- financial analyst, Quest Diagnostics – Nicole Engle ’17- accountant, Geller & Company, private wealth management – Gricelda Hidalgo ’18- tax accountant, Sobel & Co.
The panel was moderated by Donna Harris, Chief Procurement Officer for Prudential Financial and a current mentor in the program. The panel discussed the resources they used in finding their current jobs, any challenges or difficulties encountered when they first started working and whether they felt well-prepared for their positions. They also provided advice for our current mentees regarding their own job searches. It was a very informative session, and the former mentees impressed everyone with their maturity, knowledge and the ease with which they have transitioned to the working world!
