Purpose: A planned giving program helps those members and friends who would like to remember FWA in their estate planning to do so easily and be recognized for this generous gesture.
We need a name: Planned Giving programs at other institutions have important, meaningful names. The New York City Ballet has the Serenade Society, one of founder George Balanchine’s most lovely and well known ballets. The Metropolitan Museum of Art has the William Society, named after the adorable blue faience hippopotamus that is their classic emblem.
Update: Congratulations to Raleigh Mayer whose entry was selected. The FWA planned giving program will now be known as 1956 Circle™.
Want to give us a name? We are sponsoring a contest – winner to receive recognition and a small gift. After you’ve created a name please take one more step – check on the Internet via Google or any other search engine to see if the name is already in use. If we choose a name that is not already being used, we can Trademark it and make it ours legally.
Please email your name for the Planned Giving Program by March 30th, 2017 to Fran Smyth at
