Volunteer for the Financial Backpack Program!

In just a few weeks, you’ll have two excellent opportunities to join in the FWA’s Financial Backpack program. If you’ve ever wanted to teach high school students what you know about finance and investing, the Financial Backpack volunteers have been highly praised for the work they do in partnership with some of the city’s most respected nonprofits.

Want to Learn More?

On November 13 you are invited to a kickoff reception and program review. Whether you’re a veteran or a novice, this is an valuable opportunity to get acquainted and learn more about our curriculum. The program also includes a brief training for the Virtual Enterprise workshop described below. It will be held at Martin Luther King HS, 122 Amsterdam Avenue, between 5:30 and 7:00 pm.

Ready to Start Teaching?

On November 21  one of the first and best opportunities to volunteer will be  hosted by our longtime partner, Virtual Enterprise International. It will take place at Ft. Hamilton High School in Brooklyn, (8301 Shore Rd, Brooklyn, NY 11209) from 3-6 pm. Interested volunteers are asked to  contact Financial Backpack Consultant Claire Wyckoff (Financial-Backpack@fwa.org) asap.

Participating is a great way to practice presentation skills while also sharing your knowledge with future entrepreneurs.
