Join the FWA for an all-star panel of strategists who will break down what to expect in financial markets and the economyas the new administration rolls out changes that impact global markets. The Federal Reserve has slowed its Interest rate reductions, but higher Treasury yields have become an important catalyst. Can the stock market continue to head higher, after a strong performance in 2024? Will the economy stay strong? Will inflation reaccelerate? This important discussion will be moderated by Jon Hilsenrath, founder of Serpa Pinto Advisory and a 26-year veteran at The Wall Street Journal.

Bios:
Ian Lyngen, Managing Director and Head of U.S. Rates Strategy, BMO Capital Markets
Ian is a Managing Director and Head of U.S. Rates Strategy at BMO Capital Markets. His primary focus is the U.S. Treasury market with specific interests in monetary policy and economic and technical analysis. He is consistently ranked among the top strategists in the Global Fixed Income Institutional Investor Survey for US Rates Strategy, Technical Analysis, and Fixed Income Strategy.
Ian joined BMO Capital Markets from CRT Capital Group. At CRT Capital, he was part of an award-winning strategy duo, ranking first in the Institutional Investor Survey’s U.S. Government Bond Strategy category for 11 consecutive years, first in the fixed-income Technical Analysis category for five consecutive years, and runner-up in the general Fixed-Income Strategy category for seven consecutive years. Prior to CRT Capital, Ian served as Senior Interest Rate Strategist at RBS Greenwich Capital.
Ian earned an MBA from Yale School of Management and a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Minnesota. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst and member of the New York Society of Security Analysts.
Jill Carey Hall, Head of U.S. Small and Mid-Cap Strategy and Senior U.S. Equity Strategist, BofA Global Research
Jill Carey Hall is managing director and head of U.S. Small and Mid-Cap Strategy who joined BofA Global Research in 2009. As a senior U.S. Equity Strategist, she works closely with Savita Subramanian, in determining forecasts for the S&P 500, recommending sector allocations for U.S. equities and publishing thematic reports. Hall also authors a proprietary analysis of BofA equity client flow trends and leads the firm’s Global Research U.S. small and mid-cap strategy work.
Hall has been quoted in various financial news publications including the Wall Street Journal and Financial Times and is a frequent guest on CNBC and Bloomberg TV. She was named Bank of America’s 2016 “Rising Star” within Global Banking and Markets, an award given annually by the Women’s Bond Club to recognize aspiring leaders on Wall Street. Hall currently serves as co-chair of the Women’s Leadership Council.
Hall has a bachelor’s degree in economics and business and a bachelor’s degree in English from Lafayette College. She is a CFA charterholder.
Kathryn Rooney Vera, Chief Strategist, StoneX Group
Kathryn is Chief Market Strategist at StoneX where she is responsible for formulating investment strategies across asset classes for institutional clients globally, based on her macroeconomic analyses and forecasting. Kathryn is a high-frequency contributor to television networks Bloomberg Television, CNBC, Bloomberg, CNN en Español, and Fox Business. She is a frequent keynote speaker at major conferences in both the English and Spanish-speaking world.
Formerly she served as Head of Global Macro Research and Chief Investment Strategist at Bulltick where she was responsible for the firm's overall capital market investment strategy. Before this, Kathryn served as an Emerging Markets Latin America economist and strategist at Bear Stearns in Emerging Markets Fixed Income Research. She has worked on the buy-side as a sovereign analyst at MetLife Investments, conducting in-depth economic analyses on emerging markets, and working closely with the portfolio manager on asset selection and portfolio allocations.
Kathryn holds her Master’s in Business degree, specializing in Economics and Finance, from New York University’s Stern School of Business. She earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics and Spanish literature from Rutgers University in New Jersey where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. She also studied at the University of Valencia in Spain.
Kathryn serves on the Advisory Board of the University of Miami’s Department of Economics—where she taught Global Economics as an adjunct professor.
