Following the success of the Directorship and Corporate Governance Committee (DCGC) and Deloitte Center for Board Effectiveness partnership on the Virtual Board Readiness program in 2022 and 2023, the DCGC are once again offering the program for new participants.  

This by invitation only opportunity is exclusively for FWA members who are already board members, board-ready senior executives, and/or interested in joining corporate boards, and is designed to navigate the responsibilities, changes, and current risk trends that boards have to deal with in today’s dynamic environment. 

The registration deadline is February 9, 2024, and a commitment to attend the entire program (four monthly sessions - see the below agenda) is required when you register. Each session will be held from 4:30PM–6:00PM ET and is hosted by the Deloitte Center for Board Effectiveness

Session 1 | February 28, 2024

Introduction to corporate governance – An overview of corporate governance, the board's fiduciary oversight responsibility, and what it means to serve on a board as well as what to expect when serving on a committee.

Session 2 | March 27, 2024

Landscape of boards and responsibilities – An overview of considerations and nuances for the different types of boards, including the similarities and differences among the boards of private companies, non-profit organizations, SPAC (Special Purpose Acquisition Companies) and private equity-backed boards, as well as public company boards.  

Session 3 | April 17, 2024

Hot topics on the board's agenda – A panel of experienced board members will discuss trending topics and influences on board meeting and committee agendas.

Session 4 | May 15, 2024

Finding the right fit - A panel of experienced board members will share their insights and perspectives on securing your first board seat. The panel will discuss their personal experiences and the dynamic relationships amongst the C-suite and the board and offer tips for settling into your first board role.
