Next Gen Programs

FWA impacts students and scholars through a broad range of programs and activities dating back to 1976.

FWA scholarships, financial literacy workshops, community service activities, and mentoring programs have benefited more than 5,600 individuals for almost 50 years.

Mentoring a student can be the most powerful influence on her professional future. FWA programs help economically, culturally, and ethnically diverse high school and undergraduate college students define their dreams—and discover the ways and means to achieve them. FWA scholars and mentees experience new and different educational and career opportunities. They’re provided advice and support in academic and professional areas and are encouraged to increase their cultural awareness. The FWA’s one-on-one mentoring program has been recognized as a model program by Harvard University.

Wall Street Exchange

The Wall Street Exchange (WSE) was formed in 1976 for upper-level college students within the New York area who will soon join the workforce. The informative workshops provide insight into professionalism, leadership, resume writing and interview techniques. Programs also cover how to network and how to create a powerful marketing plan for one’s career. Potential job candidates have the opportunity to learn more about the firm who provide these topical presentations.

Financial Backpack is delivered in a classroom setting with a FWA member, NYC teacher, and college student team-teaching.

Over 2,800 students have participated and benefited from this program.

Seton Hall University Undergraduate Mentoring Program

In 2015, the FWA expanded and established the FWA mentoring and scholarship program at Seton Hall to encourage women to seek career opportunities in finance and business. FWA selected Seton Hall because it was nationally recognized for its ‘Return on Investment’ by U.S. News & World Report for its strong academic programs. The Seton Hall mission to “enrich each student's life through an ethics-centered education focusing on transforming concepts into business practice” is perfectly aligned with the FWA.
