Description: 
 

Join the FWA for a lively panel discussion at Baruch College for Women's History Month on the challenges that could be faced by women as corporations move to rebrand and restructure the support systems that aided women in the workplace. The panel will be moderated by Diana Scott, Human Capital Leader at The Conference Board, and will include professionals and subject matter experts engaged in understanding corporate and legal approaches to navigating diversity and inclusion for women, especially during these times of change. How can businesses create effective programs that align with core values and follow the law? 

 

Registration from 5-5:30 pm 
Panel begins at 5:30 pm and includes time for Q&A
Reception and networking afterwards until 8 pm

Bios: 
 

Diana ScottDiana Scott, Human Capital Center Leader, The Conference Board

 

Diana Scott is Center Leader of the US Human Capital Center at The Conference Board. She has deep experience as a transformational human resources and business leader. Previously, she served as Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer of The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America. She joined Guardian from Prologis, a global logistics company and Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT), where she served as CHRO. She also led human resources for John Hancock Financial, where she was the general manager of the 529 college savings plan; general manager of the Group Insurance Division; and VP, direct distribution and e-commerce and Chief Privacy Officer.

 

Scott has served on many healthcare and professional boards. She was named one of the Bay Area's Most Influential Women by San Francisco Business Journal. She received an AB in German studies from Harvard College.


 

Jin Hwang, Of Counsel with KSBranigan Law P.C.   Jin Hwang

 

Jin Hwang is an attorney with twenty years of experience as an advisor and negotiator for global companies such as Verizon and France Télécom (now Orange). Jin is currently Of Counsel with KSBranigan Law P.C.

 

Some highlights from Jin’s career include being Associate General Counsel with Verizon. She led a legal team that negotiated multi-million-dollar commercial agreements with Fortune 500 companies. Jin was primary counsel on numerous strategic projects, including working closely with all business groups to integrate various assets after Verizon Wireless’ significant acquisitions.

 

Jin has been strongly committed to equity, inclusion, and belonging throughout her career. She was an inaugural Steering Committee member of the Verizon Public Policy, Law & Security Diversity and Inclusion Council and served as a past president of the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (NAPABA). Jin is a board member of the League of Women Voters of New Jersey, including Governance Committee co-chair and Finance Committee member.

 

Jin has been very involved with the American Bar Association. As a past Commissioner with the Commission on Women in the Profession, Jin served as co-chair of the Grit and Growth Mindset Committee and the Native American Women Attorneys Study. Jin also served on an ABA Presidential DEI Taskforce in 2024, culminating in the publication of the DEI Success Toolkit. She is the inaugural NAPABA representative on the ABA DEI Advisory Council and also serves in leadership roles with The Financial Literacy Project, a TIPS public service project with Thomson Reuters. Jin is a current Commissioner on the Commission on Racial and Ethnic Diversity in the Profession.

 

Jin obtained her J.D. from American University’s Washington College of Law and B.A. in Psychology and French Studies with Honors from the University of Pennsylvania.

 

 

Mike SebringMike Sebring, SVP, Head of Diversity & Inclusion, Citizens Bank 

 

Mike Sebring is a passionate leader driving diversity and inclusion efforts as the Head of D&I at Citizens. He brings over 29 years of banking experience, which includes a decade building D&I functions for global Japanese firms SMBC and MUFG across the Americas. Prior to this, he led multi-state retail banking and wealth management teams on the West Coast, earning national recognition for building high-performing, inclusive teams. Mike holds a BS from Arizona State University and lives in Norwalk, CT with his husband. A passionate traveler, he believes in the power of diverse experiences to broaden perspectives and drive positive change.

 

 

Tunisia RileyTunisia Riley, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Specialist, New York Life 

 

Tunisia Riley is a DE&I Specialist at New York Life (NYL) where she’s been able to bring her academic training, institutional knowledge, passion for social justice, strategic thinking, and communications skills to her role. Her team is responsible for advancing inclusive leadership and the cultural competency of employees and agents at New York Life.

 

Tunisia has been with NYL for over a decade and has 20+ years of experience in communications. Tunisia is a proud graduate of The College of William & Mary with a BA in English and also holds two Masters degrees: one in Women’s Studies from the University of South Florida and another in Public Relations from Kent State University. She also holds a Certificate in Diversity and Inclusion from Cornell University.

 

Tunisia considers herself a storyteller and strongly believes that storytelling, through any medium, has the power to transform lives. She is passionate about social justice and tries to use her platform to encourage honest discussions and educational opportunities around the subject.
